Gloria Angela Bergey, 72, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
Gloria was born December 28, 1949 in North Carolina to the late William Edward Hallman Sr. and the late Artie Lee Hallman.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Harvey Dean Bergey; brothers Larry Joe Hallman and William Edward Hallman; and sisters Corita Purcell, Cellie Ann Hallman, and Rosetta Hallman.
Survivors include sons Christopher Bergey and Timothy Bergey of Mount Pleasant, NC; brothers Daniel Hallman and Jimmy Hallman; and sister Sylvia Bagby.
Gloria was loved by all who knew her. She was kind, present with people, and believed in giving others the gift of listening patiently to their stories in their own words and timing. Those who knew her saw her like a “star that shone in the world” (Phil 2:15).
Her center was her faith in Christ and family. Gloria loved children which led to her career as a school bus driver. She lit up when her students would come up to her and say hi, even years later. She enjoyed baking, snowmen and angel collectibles, and all things Christmas.
