Glennis A. Brunner, 90, of Metamora, IL, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away at 9:12 am on Friday, September 23, 2022 at her residence at Snyder Village in Metamora.
She was born on April 1, 1932, in Temperance, MI, to Claude R. and May B. (Wilsey) McNaught. She married William S. “Bill” Brunner on November 26, 1953 in Kewanee, IL and they lived in the Peoria area all their married life. He passed away on February 19, 2022.
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth (David) Kacynski of Thompson Station, TN, Suzanne (Gregg) Hidden of Omaha, NE, and Janet (Steven) Slape of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Jake, Mike, and Andrew Kacynski, Alison and Mitchell Hidden, and Molly, Heather, and Billy Slape; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathy Griffin of Florida; one brother, Michael (Mary Sue) McNaught of North Carolina; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Daniel Brunner, great-granddaughter, Amy Wallace, brother, Dean McNaught, and sisters, Betty Brown and Joyce Harris.
Glennis grew up in Kewanee, IL and graduated from Kewanee High School in 1950. She graduated from Galesburg Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in Galesburg, IL in 1953. Glennis spent most of her working years in the operating room at Methodist Hospital in Peoria and retired from there in 1984.
