Glennie E. Forsberg, 91, of Castle Rock, CO passed away at Brookside Inn, in Castle Rock following a lingering illness.
Glennie was born to David Edwin and Clara Josephine Davis in Benton Harbor Michigan on May 30th, 1919. Preceding her in death were her brothers Jimmy Davis, Lester Davis, Basil N. Davis, Jesse Davis and sister Doris (Davis) Kemmerling.
Glennie Married Fredrick Beekman in 1936 and together they had seven children, Lester, Nancy, Fred, Raymond, Joane, Bobby and Glenna. Fredrick Beekman passed away in January of 1962. Glennie then married Robert Forsberg on June 24th, 1962 and they merged the family of Glennie and her seven children with Robert and his four children, Nancy (Forsberg) Jenkins, Robert Forsberg, Jr., Larry Forsberg ( deceased) and Betty (Forsberg) LaDoucierur.
Glennie graduated from nursing school and worked at Rose Medical Center. Robert (Bob) and Glennie retired to the western slope of Colorado , eventually calling Delta, CO home.
Glennie loved to read and learn about everything. She was very open minded with her children, always giving great advice but also allowing her children to experiment and learn for themselves. Glennie loved the lord and led a godly life. She loved animals and was always compassionate towards them.
Glennie had 19 grandchildren, 30+ great grandchildren and 3+ great/great grandchildren. Glennies Grandchildren include:Sonny and Jeff Beekman of Idaho, Sherry Lynn Raile (Denver,CO), Larry (Buddy) Raile (Parker, CO), Gary M. Raile (Littleton, CO) , Roger Beekman (Washington), Fred Beekman IV (Wyoming), Robyn Beekman ( Denver, CO) , Terry R. Beekman ( Michigan) , Mindy Lee Beekman ( Michigan) , Randy Beekman ( Michigan ) , Tammy Sue ( Dykman) James ( Michigan), Todd Paul Dykman, ( Michigan), Misty Lynn (Dykman) Storey, (Evergreen, CO), Bobby Beekman JR. ( Michigan), Greg Beekman, ( Michigan) , Angela Forsberg (Centennial, CO) Dwayne Jenkins (Denver, CO) and Gail Jenkins ( Texas) .
Glennie resided at Brookside Inn in Castle Rock, CO for 2 1/2 years prior to her death. Glennie and her family cherished the loving nurses and caregivers who cared for her there.
