Upland: Glenna M. Stierer Cormican passed away Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Fayette County, the daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Leonard) Hill. She graduated from Connersville High School in 1941. She married Jack Stierer on February 3, 1944. He preceded her in death December 27, 1975.
She later married Clair Cormican on May 3, 1980. He preceded her in death November 24, 2001. She had been employed for a few years at the Ann Shop in Gas City. That is when she met Clair Cormican. After they married she moved from Gas City to Upland. She attended the Upland United Methodist Church where she was formerly active with various church functions. She also was a member of the Tri Die Club, and the Wednesday Senior Citizens Group.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca (Ray) Soultz, Jonesboro; a son, Kent Stierer, Hobe Sound, FL; a step daughter, Joyce (Phil) Tomson, Denver; a step son, John (Elin) Cormican, Utica, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. A great granddaughter, Courtney Soultz, preceded her in death.
