Glenn “Tuffy” Sell, age 80, died at 3:25 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 30, 1933 in Salem Township, a son of the late John and Elsie (Schwechlik) Sell. Mr. Sell graduated from Augusta High School and before his retirement in 1998, was employed at Salem City Schools as maintenance superintendent for 15 years. He had previously been employed at Coy Brothers Trucking for 28 years. Tuffy was a member of the Bolton United Methodist Church in Alliance, the Salem Club, East Palestine Moose Lodge #467, Independent Hose Club and the Salem Saxon Lodge #19. His wife, Alberta (Nannah) Sell, whom he married March 12, 1954, survives him along with three sons, Fred (Lisa) Sell of Damascus, Gary Sell of Salem and Jake Sell of Salem; twin daughters, Sharon (Barry) Karnofel of Leetonia and Karen (Jeff) Simmons of Salem; three sisters, Norma (Richard) Firth of Hanoverton, Patricia Hoffmaster of Leetonia and Susan (Don) Gudat of Salem; three brothers, Arthur (Erika) Sell of Frederick, Maryland, Donald (Barb) Sell of Lisbon and Clyde (Dottie) Sell of Salem; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. A sister, Edith Huffman also preceded him in death.
