Glenn Tazzal Willis was born February 28, 1938 to Abe and Julia Willis, in Ridgeland, SC. He peacefully transitioned from this life to eternity on July 5, 2022 in Annapolis, MD. He was one of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Daisy Zeigler, and his brother, Blancherd Willis. He attended Wayne County Training (High) School in Jesup, Georgia. He was very popular and played football and basketball. He graduated in 1957. He migrated to the East Coast in the late 1950’s. He worked at various companies repairing Oriental rugs. He later began working at the Veterans Hospital where he became a supervisory technician in the Hemodialysis Unit in Washington, D.C. He received many awards and commendations before retiring in 1995. Glenn met Ethel Alford of San Antonio, TX, in 1967 and they married in 1968. They were happily married for 54 years. There were no children born to this union. Glenn loved gardening and watching sports.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Ethel of Dunkirk, MD; his sister, Claudinnia Darby of Hyattsville, MD; his brother, James Richardson of Richmond Hill, GA; his daughters, Sharon Doomes (Michael), and Pastor Tammie Willis Thomas (Wil) both of Jesup, GA; his grandchildren, Melissa Doomes, and Benjamin Doomes (Sali) of Jesup, GA, and Michael Martin Doomes of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren, Meelah Bryant, Gabriela Knoten, Grayson Doomes, Axton Doomes, and Wylder Doomes, brothers-in-law, Walter Alford of Abilene, TX and Dr. George Alford (LaVerne) of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Barbara Jones of New York City, NY, Joyce Scales of Kansas City, MO, Judy Alford of Houston, TX, and Sandra Crowder of Florissant, MO as well as many other family and friends.
To
