Richards, Glenn A. of Beacon, entered into rest Friday, September 6, 2013 at his home. He was 64. Born December 9, 1948 in Roanoke VA, he was the son of the late Berkley A. Richards and Evelyn M. Radford Richards Furrow. Glen was a retired Operating Engineer for the Local # 825, New York Trap Rock. He was a life member of Slater Chemical, Glenham, and a member of St. Joachim’s Church. In Roanoke VA, he married Julia B. Hurley, Mrs. Richards survives at home. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Christy Heath (Lee) of Hardy, VA, Elaine M. Thomas (Mark) of Beacon, Christopher M. Richards (Tonya) of Poughkeepsie, JR Richards at home and loved as a daughter Jennifer Bashant (Rich) of Queensbury, NY. A sister Rose Hale (Jimmy) of Fieldale, VA, his grandchildren; Hayden, Charlie and JD Heath, Nicholaus, Mark, and his honeybee Allison Thomas, Skyler Richards and Isobel and Connor McCarthur. Brothers and sisters-in-law Carol Carey and Ron Reynolds of Beacon, Patricia and William Papula of Zephyrhills, FL, Agnes and Stephen Mckeon of Fort Pierce, FL, Anita and Al Miller of Conway, SC, Patrick and Debbie Hurley of Forestville, NY, and John and Donna Hurley of Aynor, SC. Two step-sisters; Janey and Snapp (Bryant) of Newport News, VA and Dina Richards (Elliott) of Roanoke, VA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepfather Beauford ‘Pat’ Furrow.
