Glenn R. Smith, 73, of Anderson, passed away on April 21, 2016, at Community Hospital after a two-year battle with a Meningioma Brain Tumor. He was born on April 10, 1943, to Ethel (Tower) Smith and William Arthur Smith.
Glenn graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1962. He served six years in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1970. He was a 1999 retiree of Delco Remy and Magnequench International. He was a 60-year member of Bethany Christian Church, UAW #662, and a proud member of the NRA. Glenn was an avid reader and enjoyed working with statistics. On October 3, 1971, he married Judith (Babb) Smith.
She survives along with a daughter, Julie (Doug) Flack of Hamilton, Ohio; son, John Smith of Hobart; and granddaughters, Lainey Rose Flack and Braelyn Anne Flack, both of Hamilton, Ohio. Also, surviving are his brothers, Dale (Marilyn) Smith of Anderson, and Dr. Donald (Linda) Smith of Granger; sister-in-law, Karen Babb of Greenwood; former sister-in-law, Sandy Smith of Mishawaka; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was greeted in Heaven by his in-laws, Wilford and Sue Babb, and brother-in-law, Phillip Babb. The family would like to thank the staff of Community Hospital and Community Northview for taking such good care of Glenn these past few months. Also, thank you to Dr. Jennifer Zook.
