Glenn P. Houghtalin, Hopewell Junction, NY died on February 2, 2021. Glenn was born in Beacon, NY on May 29, 1942, the son of Philip Houghtalin and Olive Greene Houghtalin.

He is survived by his wife Patrice Williams Houghtalin. His son, Brian Houghtalin, Greensboro, NC predeceased him on July 22, 2020.

Glenn was a graduate of Beacon High School. He was employed by IBM retiring after 35 years and retired as a Senior Level Manager of Information Services. During his career, he managed worldwide Data Center Services; worked at Poughkeepsie, White Plains, and East Fishkill. During his career, he was responsible for services at East Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, Burlington, Vermont, Endicott, New York, Houston, Texas, Manasses and Gaithersburg, Virginia, France, Ireland, Germany, and Italy. He received many awards among which were three separate Division People Management Awards. Glenn served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and was discharged as a Specialist 5th Class.

He was very active in civic affairs during his lifetime having served as an elected Dutchess County representative from Beacon, Chairman of the Dutchess County Legislature, Chairman of the legislature’s Ways & Means Committee, member of the Dutchess County Republican Executive Committee, member of the Dutchess County Traffic & Safety Committee, member of the Dutchess County Equal Opportunity Committee, Chairman of the Beacon Recreation Committee, Vice- Chairman of the Beacon Human Relations Committee, an officer of the Beacon Junior League, and officer of the Fairview Cemetery Association. He was a past member of the NAACP and was recognized with an award for the Beacon Martin Luther King Club.
