Preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Knobloch and Philip Alfred Becnel, Jr., his brother Benjamin Becnel, and his nephews Richard Becnel and Darrel Gonzales Jr. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Savannah and Simone Becnel, the mother of his daughters, Cheryl Becnel, and his siblings, Philip III, Denise B. King, David, Harvey, Robert, Oscar, and René Becnel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Glenn grew up in Uptown New Orleans. He attended St. Francis of Assisi elementary school. He was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St.

Glenn was a Boy Scout and attained the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Jesuit and Redemptorist High Schools, and graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy from Northeast Louisiana University, (now University of Louisiana at Monroe). He was a retired Occupational Therapist.

Glenn was always interested in music and loved to sing and play his guitar. “Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road” was one of his favorite songs. Glenn played recreational volleyball in several leagues and was thrilled when his daughters showed an interest in the sport.

He faithfully attended his daughters’ high school volleyball games and often traveled far distances to attend their games during college. Glenn was an avid fan and season ticket-holder of Tulane Football and Pelicans basketball. He generously shared his tickets with family and friends.

Glenn was generous with his time and his love, often leaving impromptu care packages on doorsteps of those he loved or those he thought needed encouragement. He was extremely outgoing and was quick to engage in small talk with everyone. Glenn lived a clean and sober life for 33 years and strove for continued self improvement both as an example and a sponsor to many.
