Glenn Herbert Herd, 92, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at The Oaks Assisted Living, Cumming, Georgia.
He retired from the United States Air Force as a Brigadier General where he was a highly decorated pilot and served as the Base Commander of Dobbins Air Field. He was an avid golfer, loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Ernest and Leora Purdy Herd.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Crafts Herd of Cumming, GA; daughter, Glenda J. Holmes of Cumming, GA; grandson, Frank “Chip” Jones, IV of Simpsonville, SC; granddaughter, Ashley Payne Jones of Alpharetta, GA; great granddaughter, Ellis Ann Jones of Simpsonville, SC. And many other relatives.
