Mrs. Glenda Sue Robertson Benefield, age 66, of Lanett passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the LaGrange Hospice.
Mrs. Benefield was born on July 13, 1950 in Lineville, Alabama to the late Sanders Dee Robertson and Pearly Mae Edmondson Robertson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Retired SFC Hoyt Gay Benefield; brothers, Harold Robertson, Bobby Wayne Robertson, Wendell Robertson; sister, Mary Frances “Frankie” Robertson; brother-in-laws, Fred Prestridge, Cecil Hamby; special niece, Betty Dianne, daughter of Betty Bailey.
Mrs. Benefield is survived by her three children, Marvin (Denise) Benefield, Fredonia, AL., Connie (Tim) Nixon, LaGrange, GA., LeAnn (Rick) Willis, Peachtree City, GA.; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Prestridge, Macon, GA., Betty (Vince) Bailey, Carrollton, GA., Peggy Hamby, Valley, AL., Vicki (Bobby) Hanna, Lanett, AL.; brothers, James Robertson, Valley, AL., Johnny Ray Robertson, West Point, GA.; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL. and the staff at West Georgia Hospice for their loving care given to Mrs. Benefield.
