Glenda Kay Britz, age 64, of Meridian, Idaho passed away peacefully on September 29, 2014. A friend to all, an enemy to none, she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Born on April 17, 1950 in Castleford, Idaho, to Jasper and Esther Griggs, Glenda was the youngest of nine children. She attended Castleford High school and graduated in 1968. After graduation, Glenda enlisted in the Army and became an Air Traffic Controller and served a year in Saigon, Vietnam. Her love for her country remained strong and true until the day she passed.
After returning home from Vietnam, Glenda married Richard Britz and moved to Kentucky where their daughter, Angela, was born.
In March 1999, she accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized. As a two-time cancer survivor (2002 and 2009), she realized how precious life was and vowed not to waste a single day. Family, especially her grandchildren, were Glenda’s passion and delight. They were the loves of her life. She devoted all she had to seeing them grow, succeed, and become respectable adults. She never missed a game, concert, award, or event.
Glenda thoroughly enjoyed athletics and will be remembered for being an avid BSU fan. Most Saturdays you could find her sitting on a sideline, watching her grandkids play their many sports, and then rushing home to catch her Broncos score a touchdown. Her lawn chair is empty way too soon. Glenda will especially be remembered for her devotion to God, love of her family, and enthusiasm for life.
Glenda is survived by her two children, Angela Nett of Boise, Idaho and Jason (LeDeana) Britz of San Diego, California, and her most precious gifts, six grandchildren, Josh, Chase, and Tanner Nett and Jacey, Jaylee, and Brynlee Britz, two brothers, Hershel (Theresa) Griggs of Richland, Washington and Jim (Barbara) Griggs of Twin Falls, Idaho, two sister-in-laws, Marge Griggs of Challis, Idaho, Kathy Griggs of Glendale, Arizona, and brother-in-law John Brewer of Boise, Idaho, and many other nieces and nephews, and family members. Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Jasper Griggs, two sisters, Reva Brewer and Dorothy Weast, and four brothers, Raymond , Onel , J.D. , and Jerry Griggs.
