Ms. Glenda Faye Tysor France, 64 of 2602 Mallord Cove Road, Sanford, NC, entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Sanford, NC.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
Glenda Faye Tysor France was born January 20, 1959, to Addie “Sister” Petty and Winfred Tysor in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was raised with the help of her grandparents Eli and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Petty.
Glenda participated in sports and cheerleading throughout school and graduated from Sanford Central High School in 1977. After graduating, she began working at Central Carolina Hospital for the next 20 years gaining lifelong friends. After a brief retirement, Glenda decided to change careers. She returned to school becoming a certified nursing assistant from Central Carolina Community College and worked for Shipman Family Care where she was a Regional Manager for the last 20 years.
Glenda’s love for sports continued past school. She played softball for the family’s team, Petty’s Groceries, going undefeated for several years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially spades, with her family and friends. Glenda was someone you definitely wanted as your spades’ partner. She spent her time cooking and baking. She was known for her amazing pineapple cake. Glenda was always looking for her next vacation destination. Whether with her family or her friends, she was always ready to travel, especially for her birthday.
Glenda loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Tempting Congregational Church. She found comfort in reading her Bible. Despite several cancer diagnoses, Glenda had a positive outlook on life and was incredibly optimistic in all situations, crediting her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was uplifting and inspirational with her words, always willing to pray with and for you.
Glenda was a kind, loving, and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was very caring and giving. Glenda loved her family dearly and was immensely proud of them.
She was preceded in death by her mother Addie, grandparents Eli and Lizzie, and paternal grandparents Mary and Russell Tysor.
Although gone too soon, Glenda will be tremendously missed. Her candid way of saying what was on her mind, her warmth and her compassion will surpass her lifetime.
Glenda’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the hearts of her son, Antonio (Tammy) daughter Tunica (Antonio); granddaughters Ajea, Amoria, Mckenzie, and Amya; Grandsons Jaylen and Isaiah; Great-grands Kori, Avery, and Julian; her father Winfred (Louise); Sister Gwendolyn (Anthony); Niece Shanica; Nephew Tony; Special friends Carolyn, Claudia, Eddie, Evelyn, Pearl, and Vivian; and countless other relatives, friends, and coworkers.
