Glen Sanger, age 91 of Midland, passed away Friday January 6, 2017 at his residence. The son of the late Benjamin and Beatrice (Dickerson) Sanger was born in Barryton, Michigan on July 26, 1925 where he was raised and educated.
Glen served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1948. He moved to Midland in 1949 where he work for the Dow Corning Co until his retirement in 1989 after 37 years of service. Glen was a member of the Midland Old Fellow Lodge 418 where he served as Past Noble Grand, a member of Midland Rebekah Lodge. He was Past Grand Patriarch of Grand Encampment, Past Deputy Commander of Patriarch Militant, Past Grand Master of The Grand Lodge of Michigan, Past Chief Patriarch of Encampment, Past Captain of Canton, Recipient of the Grand Decoration of Chivalry, the highest honor given by The Old Fellows. Glen was also a member of Sanford American Legion and the 732nd Railroad Operators Battalion.
Surviving are his daughters, Christine (Thomas) Miller, Monica Sanger all of Midland; grandchildren, Matthew Miller of Midland, Erika (Jeremiah) DeBell of Denver; great grandchildren, Addie DeBell, J.T. DeBell, and Alexander Miller; companion, Mary Lou Faries. In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his brothers, Lantz and Dale Sanger.
