Glen R. Larson, age 92 of Gladstone, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. Blessings to their wonderful staff, especially the angels of Station 3.

Glen was born March 28, 1925 in Escanaba, MI, the son of Carl and Beulah (Peterson) Larson. He grew up surrounded by 6 siblings, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. All his siblings except his brother Stanley Larson of Waconia MN are deceased. He also has one surviving sister-in-law, Mary Jo Larson of Soo Hill. After graduation from Escanaba High School he entered the army and served during WWII in England, Belgium, and Germany. After the war Glen returned to Escanaba and married Ruth King of Marinette. They shared 67 years together until her death in 2014. They had 3 children through birth and added 2 more through marriage: Glenna and Roy MaKosky of Rochester MN, Nancy Larson of Gladstone, MI and Kent and Sue Larson of Midland MI. Glen’s legacy extends through his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Elysia and Jeremy Halls; Jenny MaKosky and Jimmy Budnik – Zoë, Sören and Nora; Dan and Kate MaKosky – Alex; Matt and Alisha MaKosky – Jacob and Amelia; Ben and Stacey Larson; Jonathan and Amber Larson – McKenzie and Morgan; Matt and Emily Larson; Sarah Larson; Rachel Larson.
They all loved their grandpa very much.

Like his father, Glen was a carpenter, gardener (organic before it was cool), and apple grower. He loved to fish and hunt, only missing one deer hunting season. He got his buck last year and was featured in a front page Daily Press article. After his retirement from Clairmont Transfer, Glen lived in tune with the seasons. In springtime he started seeds and made maple syrup. In summer he tended his garden while in the fall he harvested. During the winter he cut wood and went ‘belly flopping’ with his grandchildren. Whatever the season, Glen served his Lord through word and deed. He leaves a Godly heritage behind. He ended well.
