Those left to honor Glen’s memory are his wife, Alice of Newton; son, Steve Beatty of Newton; his daughter, Susan E. (Sherman) Swank of Newton; 6 grandchildren, Chris (Gerry, Jr.) Laurens of Colfax, Iowa, Michael Beatty of Duluth, Minnesota, Kelly Beatty of Mitchellville, Iowa, Peter Swank of Washington, Spencer Swank of Newton, and Jonathan Swank of Newton; and his 4 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin M. and Erma (Quillin) Betty; his sister, Norma March; and a brother in infancy.
Glen was a 1943 graduate of Newton High School. He was a lifelong farmer.
