Glaydis Thompson1918 – 2014

Glaydis was born March 7, 1918, in Merced County, Missouri, the first child of Don and Lillie Rogers. The family moved to Idaho in 1925. They drove a Model T Ford to which her father had attached a small cage so she and her sister, Mabel, could bring their banty roosters to Idaho. She attended elementary school in a one-room schoolhouse with all eight grades in Patterson, Idaho. She graduated from Challis High School in 1937.Glaydis married James L. Thompson on June 11, 1938. They had five children, June Hanford, Boise; J.D., Las Vegas; Roger, Delta, Colo.; Ron, Boise; and Julie Davis, Twin graduated from Boise State College with a degree in Special Education and taught at Roosevelt and Jefferson Elementary Schools until her retirement in was preceded in death by her husband and her mother and father. She is survived by her sister, Mabel Louise Nichols, and her five children: June (Ted), J.D., Roger (Judy), Ron (Bunny) and Julie (Steve). She is survived by 10 grandchildren: Randy Hanford, Robin Hanford, Kent Thompson, Rodney Thompson, Aaron Thompson, Rebekah Landsdown, Rory Thompson, Ryan Aja, Stephanie Christensen, Lauren Davis and 16 great grandchildren.
