Gladys Virginia Spencer-Planter, 76 of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2021. She was born to her parents Hannah and Benjamin Spencer on July 2, 1944 in Florence, South Carolina. She was the first child born to this union.
Gladys also know as “Ginger” was raised in Florence, South Carolina and graduated from Wilson High School. She further moved to Panama to pursue a career in nursing. She received her nursing degree and would go on to practice in Ann Harbor, MI. She would later move to Denver, Colorado and then to Albuquerque, NM where she retired. After a long successful career, she decided to move back to Denver, Colorado to be with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents her parents Hannah Spencer and Benjamin Spencer; daughters Kanda S. Kemp of Denver, CO and Benessa E. M. Planter of Denver, CO; brothers James Spencer of Richmond, VA and Eugene Spencer of Florence, SC; sisters Betty Connor of Highpoint, NC and Betty Tillie of Florence, SC; granddaughter Rmari K.L. Fisher; friends Margarita Stasiewicz, Helena Knobolsdorf and Brenda Ussary, several cousins and additional friends.
