Gladys Vincent Scott, 85, of Graham died at the Hospice Home on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at 5:55 p.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of 60 years to the late William James “Bill” Scott, Jr. and the daughter of Cesco Clyde Vincent and Verdie Andrews Vincent, both deceased. Mrs. Scott was the owner and teacher of Happy Hour Preschool in Mebane for 38 years. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where she sang with the Riverside Baptist Quartet for 59 years. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Director and choir member.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Ann Welton and husband Rob of Seven Lakes, NC; two grandsons, Craig Scott Welton and wife Ashley of Holly Springs and Mark Robert Welton of Greenville, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron Scott Welton, Lucas Daniel Welton and Kinley Grace Welton.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by four sisters, Avanell Jones, Mozelle Burke, Margaret Maness and Geneva Pickard and three brothers, Truby Vincent, J. C. Vincent and Rev. Willard Vincent.
