Gladys Mae (Vandercar) West, 91, of New Whiteland, Indiana, passed away on Sunday November 1, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. She was formerly of Momence, Illinois. She was born to the late George and Fern Vandercar in Lowell, Indiana, on May 8, 1924. She married James West in 1944.
Gladys worked at Baker & Taylor in Momence, Illinois before retiring, to Beaverville, Illinois. Gladys was an active member of the VFW and American Legion auxiliaries. She loved to spend time with her family, crochet blankets and towels. She enjoyed being outdoors tending her flowers and bird watching.
Gladys is survived by three children, Lynda Ping of Perrysville, IN, Pamela Lefeave of New Whiteland, IN and Betty (Jeff) McIntosh of Donovan, Il, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim West, infant daughter, Barbara West and son-in-law Gordon LeFeave.
