Gladys “Mabel” Luna, 78, of Providence, passed away Thursday July 13th, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of David Luna for 58 years.
Born in the Dominican Republic, she was a daughter of the late Ernesto and Maria Celeste Rodriguez De Luna.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Doby Luna and his wife Yesenia, and David A. Luna, Jr. and his wife Susan; five grandchildren, Emily, Vivian, Jamie, Stefanie, and Jaleisa; and a great grandson, Anakin. The youngest of ten siblings, she is also survived and loved by a sister, Lerida Luna Galvan; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mabel worked at Roger Williams Day Care Center through the Foster Grandparent Program from 2009 to 2020 and was known as “Grandma” to many. Mabel was a sports fan especially baseball watching her esteemed New York Yankees.
