Salem Gladys Leora Ash, 82, departed this life early Friday morning, January 14, 2011 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabitation following an extended illness. She was born in West Union, WV, on June 23, 1928, a daughter of the late Roy and Gertrude Long Cooper. She was first married to the late Harrison Jenkins and later to Eugene Ash who also preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Cooper Hunter (Dan Hunter) of Minden, Nevada; Christine Jenkins Howells (Richard Howells) of Virginia Beach, Va;, and Idell Jenkins Watts ( Larry Watts) of Salem, WV ; Grandchildren, Kim Steed, San Jose, CA; Kris Budnick, Minden, NV; Richard Jenkins and Jeff Jenkins both of Salem, and Scott Howells, Fayetteville, WV. Also a sister Mary Lou Cooper Buck of Parkersburg, WV. Predeceasing her were a son, Roy Jenkins, a grandson, Joseph Flanagan; two brothers, Robert Cooper and Albert Cooper of West Union and a sister Maxine Cooper Adams of Oxford. She was Baptist by faith and her children attended Vermont Baptist Church in Sedalia. .
