Gladys I. Knittle, 98, of Williamsport, died peacefully, Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Williamsport Home.
Born January 31, 1920 in Milton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ottis and Mildred (Laidecker) Schreck. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years John H. Knittle on July 19, 2002.
Gladys was a 1937 graduate of Milton High School. She was an 83 year member of Heshbon United Methodist Church and was the church’s oldest member. She was the church’s organist for over 50 years. Gladys was a member of the Newberry and Heshbon Park Senior Citizens groups and enjoyed giving piano lessons and loved her cats through the years. She was an avid puzzle enthusiast and enjoyed watching the wildlife from her porch. Her greatest love and memories were being with her family and attending all her family’s activities.
Surviving are a son, Terry W. Knittle (Sharon) of Montoursville; two grandchildren Todd Knittle (Jessica) of Williamsport and Tonya Knittle (Chris Fedinez and son Jacob) of Wiliamsport, and two great-granddaughters Trinity and Alyvia Knittle.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mae Suess.
