Gladys Heinrichsmeyer, age 68, of Centralia, IL, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Fireside Nursing Home in Centralia. Gladys was born on August 20, 1947 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a daughter to Valentine and Altagracia (Berenguer) Pagan.
On September 20, 1991, she married Roy Heinrichsmeyer in Orlando, FL and he survives. In addition to her husband, Gladys is also survived by a brother Mario Questell of Puerto Rico; a sister, Maria Hutchinson and husband Jeff of Orlando, FL; an uncle, Norbert Heinrichsmeyer; a brother-in-law, Carl “Skip” Heinrichsmeyer and wife Kathy; a sister-in-law, Janet Pracht and husband George; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Iris Upton; and two nieces, Jessica and Rosie.
Gladys was of the Baptist faith. She most recently worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia in the environmental services. She loved cooking, especially baking cakes, and traveling to see her family and friends. Gladys had a love for animals that lead her to volunteer at the humane society. She loved flowers and was a big fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
