Gladys D. (Serby) Bruck, 95, of Ottawa, died on Thursday morning, May 15, 2014 at Pleasant View.
Gladys was born on September 11, 1918 in rural Wedron to Elmer and Dora (Budach) Serby. She married Vernon V. Bruck on August 6, 1938 in Davenport, IA. Gladys was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the Dayton Women’s Club and AARP. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and watching the Cubs. Mrs. Bruck loved spending time with her family and especially the outings at the farm.
She is survived by 3 daughters; Judy Walsh, Sandy (James) Malley, Karen (Emmett) Roth, all of Ottawa, 2 sons; Ken (Mary Sue) Bruck and Kevin (Lynn) Bruck, both of Ottawa, 13 grandchildren, Hank Walsh III, Craig Walsh, Jim Malley, Jr., Jeri Lin Lakan, Jason Malley, Kelli DeWalt, Christopher Shanley, Gina Bruck, Molly Farrell, Steve Bruck, Mike Bruck, Matt Bruck, and Jenny Focci; 20 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great -grandchildren; and a brother, Russell (Anne) Serby, of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vernon on July 6, 2000; and one son- in-law, Hank Walsh, Jr. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
