On September 12, 2016, with family at her side, Gladys Anstett passed on to join her beloved husband, Clarence “Peanie” Anstett where they will be happily dancing, laughing with friends, watching over family, and cheering on the Red Sox together. Born March 10, 1930 to Earl and Gertrude Roraback, Gladys was the youngest of her sibilings, sisters Gertrude “Peggy”, Kathryn “Kay”, Phyllis, and brother Earl, Jr. “Jupe”. They enjoyed life on their family farm, shared fond and exciting memories with their many cousins, and enjoyed their strong family bonds. Gladys and Peanie were married on St. Patrick’s Day, 1951 and together they raised three daughters, Deb Hodge, Dawn Anstett, and Beth Weller as well as cherished grandchildren, Colynn Hodge, Mandy (Hodge) Rizvi, Travis Hodge, Roderick Anstett, and Kaitlyn Weller. Her family is comforted knowing that she is now holding her dear granddaughter, Christie Lynn Hodge, who predeceased her. The greatest joy of Gladys’s last years was welcoming her beautiful great-granddaughter, Alisha Abbas Hodge Rizvi. For many years, Gladys worked as an operator for the telephone company. Later, her time was devoted to working the gardens with Peanie, caring for anyone and everyone in need, and raising a strong and loving family.Family was a broad term to the Roraback/Anstett clan and includes not only dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews, but also countless friends and neighbors.
