Mrs. Gladys A. (Paton) Brinovec, 90, of Peru, died at 3:50 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2009, at Countryside Care in Aurora. Mrs. Brinovec was born Feb 3, 1918 in Peru to Richard and Amanda (Kuehn) Paton.
She married Mathias Starry Brinovec on June 25, 1949. He died on December 7, 1977. She worked at Westclox for more than 42 years. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for 10 years and served two terms on the church council. She was active in the ladies guild serving as President two times. She was a member of Guild Quilters and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet (Robert) Jones of St. Charles; two grandchildren, Nicole Espino and Emily Jones; one great-granddaughter, Danielle Espino, and one great-grandson, Tyler Espino.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother, Richard Paton.
