Entered into rest, Oct. 29, 2011, Giuseppe Zarra, 87, of West Haven; husband of the late Antoinette Frieri Zarra; father of Angelina(Peter))Field of Cheshire, Anthony, Joseph(Beverly), Jr, & Luciano Zarra all of W.H.; brother of Ralph(Diane)Zarra & Gerardina Renna both of No.Haven, Ernesto(Anna)Zarra & Natalina(Gerardo) Zarra both of Cheshire , Philomena Frieri of New Haven, Maria Grieco in Italy, the late Basilio Zarra, Annunziata Grieco & Delia Zarra; grandfather of Ernest Field, Christina Barkasy & Tara Zarra;also survived by 5 great-grandhchildren. He was born June 5, 1924 in Teora, Avellino, Italy, son of the late Nicola & Angelina Nicoletti Zarra.Before emigrating to America, he served in the Italian Army. He had worked for the Regional Water Authority as a heavy equipment operator and was a former member of the Sons of Italy & Pietro-Micca Clubs. Throughout his life, Giuseppe enjoyed his large family & friends, his work & the people he worked with.
Family members would like to thank staff from all departments & volunteers at the Sr. Anne Virginie Grimes Health Care Center who by their excellent care, love, attention, conversations & prayers made him feel ever so special.
