Gilda Pomponi Pietrandrea, 88, formerly of West Haven, passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2012 in The Arden House, Hamden surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Peter Pietrandrea for 65 years. Born in Supino, Province of Frosinone, Italy on April 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Nazzareno and Antonia Bernola Pomponi. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Albert) Scafati of St. Petersburgh, FL., formerly of North Haven; her son, Peter Pietrandrea of Branford; two grandchildren, Michael & Matthew Pietrandrea. Also survived by loving family members Domenica (Mimi) Tomei, Cookie Tinari, Maria Martone & Nancy Tomei-Carey. Predeceased by her sister, Maria Bianchi Fasini. The family would recognize and thank the caregivers at Arden House 4AB for the extraordinary care she received over the past two years and also to the staff of Solamar Hospice.
