SALEM – Gilbert Wilson Rowles, age 91 of Salem, Ohio, peacefully entered into sweet rest on June 7, 2018. He was born in Olanta, Pennsylvania on June 2, 1927.
Gilbert’s wife of 70 years, Eleanor Rowles, whom he married June 11, 1945, preceded him in death on March 27, 2015. He was the last of his siblings, William, Morse and Maria.
Gilbert spent the last six months of his life in Ocala, FL with his son, Rodger. He is also survived by his daughter, Carol Shone of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Gilbert served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from the Chrysler Corporation.
