Gilbert was kind, compassionate, thoughtful and always extended a helping hand whether he knew you or not. He had a big tough appearance that could intimidate many but was a softie with a huge heart! He never hesitated to extend a hand and help anyone in need whether it be on the side of the road or in his community where he was loved and appreciated.
He was passionate about his family, golf, camping, fishing, hunting with his son Diego, hanging out with the light of his eyes Nikki, the Dallas Cowboys and helping kids in their endeavors for school or sports.
Gilbert was a hard worker and worked as a truck driver and had a side business doing construction work. But along with hard work he also knew when to relax and have a good time. He could always be counted on to be the life of the party. Gilbert’s booming voice, loud laughter, charisma and personality lit up any room he walked into. He befriended everyone he came into contact with and always left a lasting impression. He had the most hilarious and outrageous stories to share and captivated everyone’s attention when he was talking.
He was the rock to our family and the memories we shared will be cherished in our hearts forever.
