Gilbert Silva of Plymouth, passed away at home on June 1, 2021 at the age of seventy-six. He was the beloved husband of Edith (Aloisio) Silva; loving father of Mark Silva of Wrentham and Kimberly Corvi of Franklin; grandfather of Madelyn and Matthew Corvi. He was the brother of the late Allen Silva and Marcia Dobtowski. Gilbert was born on June 21, 1944 in New Bedford to Gilbert and Hilda (Furtado) Silva. He attended college for a few years before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps where he honorably served our country as a Sergeant, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Mast Award and Good Conduct Medal. Upon his discharge he began working for the Department of Defense as a Defense Contract Manager. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1190 of Plymouth and Assembly 2314.
