Gilbert E. Chalstrom, 53, of Boca Raton passed away on Sunday, December 18th, 2011 at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.
Gil was born on January 15, 1958. He was the fifth child born to Gilbert and Geneva Chalstrom in Joliet, Illinois. After the passing of his father in 1966 he moved with his family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There he developed a reputation for his surfing and karate skills. He attended Northeast High School and graduated with a BS degree in Business Management from Florida Atlantic University in 1980. He has been employed in the securities industry since this time. Gil has held both management and sales positions. Gil was employed by several global entities: Securities Pacific Bank, Swiss Bank Corporation, Cedel Bank, and Fidelity Investments, from Los Angeles to London, England. He was currently employed by ACGM, Inc.
He married the love of his life Caron Gorrie in July 1987. They have two children, a son, Gilbert John, and a daughter, Christine Pauline, ages 21 and 20. Up until the time of his illness he enjoyed being actively involved with the Surfers for Autism Organization and Surfrider Foundation.
