Gilbert “Cass” Lawrence Noble, 80, left this life Sunday morning, December 18, 2022, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on June 8, 1942, in Muncie the son of Gilbert Francis and Pauline (Dailey) Noble.
Gilbert graduated from Royerton High School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he honorable served until he was discharged. Later he met the love of his life, Diana (Rowley) in Winthrop, Maine and they had 35 wonderful years together prior to her death in 2020. Cass and Diana had been to 47 states and 2 countries while traveling. Mr. Noble had worked in Commercial Industrial Sheet Metal, as a foreman for over 40 years. Prior to his retirement, he also worked for the City of Muncie in property yard care. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Erie, American Legion, and the United Sheet Metal Workers Union. He was also known to be a big animal lover as well.
Survivors include two brothers, Carl Noble (Barbara) Middleburg, Florida, and Russell Felton (June), Marion, Indiana area; one sister, Regina Williamson (Bud), Muncie; four nephews, Mark Thornburg, Chad Thornburg (Denise), both of Albany, Nick Noble (Kristy), Dacula, Georgia and Casey Noble (Elizabeth), Georgia; two nieces, Leigh Ann Grider (Gary), Albany and Kristin Gipson (David), Georgia; several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife Diana, he was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary “Jean” Sann Earle in 1979; two brothers, Dale Huffman and Charles Noble; one nephew, Fritz Noble.
