Those left to honor Gieula’s memory are her 2 children, Tom Morgan and Kathy Hackathorn, both of Newton; 3 grandsons, Chris Morgan of Ft. Collins, CO, Ryan Hackathorn of Newton, and Adam Hackathorn of Newton; 2 granddaughter-in-laws, Amy Hackathorn of Newton and Andrea Hackathorn of Naples, FL; 6 great-grandchildren, Chelsie, Megan, and Ashley Hackathorn and Ryanne, Aidyn, and Mikayla Hackathorn; and her brother, Ivan McCullough of Russell, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Maude (Hill) McCullough; husband, George Morgan in 1981; her 2 sisters, Eileen Smith and Lois Orfield; and a grandson, Michael Hackathorn.
Gieula graduated from Garden Grove High School.
In 1949, Gieula and George moved to Newton, Iowa. She worked in the factory at the Maytag Company for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
