Gideon Douglas (Doug) Aitken, age 85, went into the arms of his Lord and Savior on May 4th, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK. Doug was born on April 18th, 1931 in Detroit Michigan to John and Grace McPherson Aitken. His parents moved him, his and brother and sister from Detroit to Scotland in 1939. Where he lived until he joined the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Aitken, his 1st wife Bertha (Pat) Aitken, his 2nd wife Margaret Paone.

He is survived by his wife of 40+ years, Edith, son Dave, daughter Karen (husband James Pauley), daughter Gail (husband Kenny White), son John (wife Abigail), brother Robert (wife Jean), sister-in-law Mary Frances (husband Butch Frank), 6 grandchildren, 5 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. He married his soul mate (Edie) on December 27th, 1975.

Doug served in the U.S. Army from October, 1950 to October, 1953 during the Korean War. He was an accomplished artist and photographer. He enjoyed riding motorcycles most of his adult life. He was a member of OKIE Wheels Motorcycle Club and the Metro Camera Club in Oklahoma City.
