Giacomo “Jack” L. Rosa, Jr., 85, of Holiday Heights section of Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Jack was born in Newark and lived in Cedar Grove before moving to Berkeley Twp 22 years ago.

He worked for the American Can Co. as a dispatcher out of Union, NJ. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corp. during the Korean War. Jack was very loyal and maintained his friendships with his high school friends, “The Mt. Prospect Gang” until the end. He was an avid sports fan and you could always catch him cheering on Lebron James, the New York Giants, and his beloved New York Yankees. In his younger years, Jack enjoyed playing basketball with his grandchildren and taught everyone his signature “Larry Bird Hook Shot.” Jack was a long-time Frank Sinatra fan and often reminisced about seeing him at the Paramount in his early days. Just like Sinatra, Jack was a performer as well; he had an amazing sense of humor and an uncanny ability to light up the room. He always had an audience.

Jack is predeceased by his parents, Giacomo and Carmela Rosa, and his siblings Michael, Katherine, Ann, Helen, Joseph, William, Frank, and Norma.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dolores (Tortoriello) Rosa; his three daughters Barbara Perrine and her husband Thomas of West Belmar, Susan Fabiano and her husband Edward of Randolph, and Linda Rosa of Manasquan, and his eight grandchildren Jacqueline, Samantha, Anthony, Nicholas, Matthew, Stephen, Adam, and Angelina.
