Geurt Karel Boshuizen, 80, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at home.
He was born, March 13, 1933 in Hilversum, Holland the son of the late Geurt K. Boshuizen and Fietje Sikking Boshuizen.
Geurt served in the Royal Dutch Marines. He was a retired Corrections Officer for the State of New York.
Those left to cherish his memories are wife Elizabeth Reilly Boshuizen whom he married June 22, 1963 in New York, son, Geurt K. Boshuizen and wife Jessica of Salisbury; daughters, Elizabeth Hotaling and husband Rob of Wichita, KS and Hope Colantonio and husband Anthony of Meadville, PA; brother, Hans Boshuizen and wife Jenny of Nieuw Loosdrecht, Holland; grandchildren, Ben Hotaling, Jordan Hotaling, Christopher Boshuizen, Shelby Boshuizen, Lilly Colantonio and Christian Colantonio.
Geurt’s passion was competitive trap and skeet shooting. He competed both domestically and internationally in the Police and Fire Games bringing home numerous medals in both team and individual events.
