Gertrude “Trudy” Duncan Quinley, 90, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday at Williamsburg Healthcare.

Mrs. Quinley was born Aug. 13, 1918. She was the daughter of W.H. Duncan and Ala (Ratcliff) Duncan.

She had worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Co., was a receptionist at R.R. Donnelly’s and later was an assistant manager for Loebs Department Store. During World War II she was a member of the civil air patrol and served on the staff of The Intelligence Office.

She was also the first woman to fly solo in Clinton County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Dorothy Q chapter of D.A.R. and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Gary Nelson of Crawfordsville; and granddaughter, Katie Jo Goforth of Crawfordsville

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Nelson Goforth.
