Gertrude Mae (Weaver) Moats passed away on November 02, 2022.She was born April 26, 1933, in Clemtown, W.V., daughter of Don Weaver and Lilly Reed, with a twin brother, Gerald.She was the sister of younger siblings, Walter, Arthur, Jack, Dale, Chester, Kay, May, Ann Alexander.Gertrude married Herbert James Moats, and together they had eight children, two years apart: Pamela Margrete, Steven Herbert, Ramona Elaine, Deb Forrest, Robin Deloris, Julius Warner, Christopher Brian, and Jason Anthony.Gertrude had 13 grandchildren: Stephanie, Mike, Mark, Mathew, Chrissy, Louie, Joshua, Amanda, Adam, Brian, Brandon, Jeramiah, Michael and 18 great-grandchildren.She was a Jill of all trades, being a gardener, canner, food pantry distributor, construction worker, and local church worker. She worked at Baby World, Saint Regis, Georgia Pacific as a foreman and was a security guard for Kingsford Charcoal. Gertrude also was CDL licensed, a manager of the WV Truck Stop in Charleston, maintenance over a large hotel and was a licensed fork truck driver. She also worked for Hospice, transporting patients to medical treatments, provided complete home care for elderly or sick, was a farm worker where she would deliver calves, build fences, plant and cut trees. Gertrude was a gun and bow hunter, a wild herb hunter, a fisherwoman and nurse. At the age of 80, she cut a truckload of firewood by herself.Gertrude was a meat-eating spiritual advisor, a true genuine God loving, fearing, Pentecostal, fire and brimstone, tongue speaking, laying on ends, slaying, praying and the Holy Spirit woman. She always walked by faith, believing all things are possible with God. She was a very strong, independent woman. She would see needs, without being asked, without any hesitation would help. There were no strangers. All are God’s children, all need love, support, and respect. Her biggest hope was that all the world would repent and become God’s children and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.Gertrude loved old gospel music, Jimmy Swaggart, long car rides through the backcountry roads, sitting by a hot wood fire and falling asleep. When asked her age, her reply was always, “I’m a 1933 model.” There will never be another like her, period. She was a remarkable woman who could work rings around many half of  her age, there was never a stop or reverse in her mindset.Gertrude was always on the go and always got things done. She was loved by so many because she left a mark on every soul she met.Gertrude was preceded in death by an infant twin brother, Gerald; identical twin grandsons, Adam and Brian; daughter, Pamela; Grandson, Mathew; son, Steven; sister, Kay; and brothers, Jack, Dale, and Walter.Gertrude loved and cherished her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by many. She will be remembered as a wonderful woman that the world lost, but heaven gained.
