Gertrude Joyce Johnson, daughter of the late John Black and Clara Travis Black and wife of the late William Clifton Johnson also known as “Steve” was born on March 4, 1918.
Gertrude went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2016 in her home in Ridgely, MD where she has resided the last 19 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons; Rev. Clarence Edward Gross (Eddie) of Maryland, William Lee Brown of California, Arthur L. Wright of Delaware, four daughters; Patricia Thomas of Delaware, Sonjia Thomas of Maryland, Gail Price of Pennsylvania, and Ella Mae Williams of Michigan; grandchildren; Malvonia, Kassia, Danielle, Boe, Vera, Latasha, Arthur Jr, Eddie, Weldon, Rhonda, Reginald, Zia, David, Santaisha, Katrina, Cassandra, Bobby, and Pam, a host of great grandchildren, a nephew; Bernard, nieces; Sylvia, Connie, and Gladys, and a host of great nephews and nieces, loving friend and neighbor Kelly Hoxter and Della Lynch, a god-daughter; Sharon and a devoted care giver and friend; Rachel, and a host of other family and friends.
