Gertrude J. Dudash, 94, of Millstone Twp., NJ died peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2019, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Gertrude was born in Newark, NJ, and later moved to North Brunswick, NJ where she and her husband Joe raised their family. She worked as the manager of a dress shop in South Brunswick, NJ earlier in her career followed by many years working at Rutgers University as an office secretary. She was also the owner of The Open End gift shop in Kendall Park, NJ. Known by many as “Ginger”, or ” Aunt Gert” Joe affectionately called her “Shoobie”. She was a generous and kind-hearted person who valued her family and close friends. She loved teaching her grandchildren how to play gin-rummy, gardening, attending Bingo with her sister Rose and attending Rutgers football games with her daughters and husband Joe.
Gertrude is predeceased by her parents William and Francis Kern, her husband of 58 years Joseph Dudash, her brother William Kern, her twin sister Rose Ardin, her brother in law Joseph Ardin and her son in law, Richard Nieliwocki.
Surviving are her daughters Patricia Nieliwocki of Millstone Twp., NJ, Barbara Ferenzi of Jackson, NJ and Katherine Slisky and her husband John also of Jackson, NJ. Gertrude is also survived by her grandchildren, John and his wife Rebecca Slisky, Amanda Nieliwocki, Joseph Slisky, Alexis and her husband Rob Cilento, Kyle Nieliwocki and Glenda Gaskill along with two great-grandchildren, Olivia Slisky and Robert Cilento.
