Gertrude “Gertie” Booker, age 68, of Marianna passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010 in Jackson Hospital. She has lived in this area since 2001 moving here from Griffin, GA and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Booker enjoyed reading, playing cards and working cross word puzzles. She was preceded in death by the father of her children Theodore Carpenter, parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cap Smith, sister, Hazel Poole and brother, Johnny Smith. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Michael L. Booker of Marianna, Fl; one son, Curtis Carpenter and wife Sherry of Independence, Ky; two daughters, Tammy Suttles and Diana Wiggins and husband, Samuel all of Cocoa, FL; three grandchildren, Brandi Burgett, Tyler Carpenter and Cassondra Carpenter.
