Ms. Gertrude Reynolds was born in Walls, Mississippi on December 25, 1929, to the late Roy Lee Floyd and Ollinous Thaston Floyd.  She departed this life on July 5, 2017 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

She confessed her life to Christ at an early age. She was a devoted Christian until the end. She sang in the choir at Shiloh M.B. Church in Decatur, AL. She spoke words of wisdom to everyone that met her. Gertrude had many talents including, baking tea cakes and butter rolls, drawing, singing, and caring for children. Ms. Reynolds was a homemaker for most of her life, but worked in her uncle’s baker in her younger years. She was a very proper lady and believed in having class and good manners. She a big heart and would put others before herself.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Willie Reynolds Sr.; son, Joe Willie Reynolds, Jr.; sisters, Vinie Troupe, Lorene Smith, Jesse Glover, Zelda Madden and Minnie Pearl; four brothers, Henry, Otis, Leroy and Clemon Floyd; and one granddaughter, Tonya Reynolds; and stepdaughter, Fannie Reynolds Wade.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: six daughters, Jackie Stewart, Betty Jo Bell, Lillie (Charles) Harris, Mary Ann Reynolds, Teresa Satchel all of Decatur and Ora (Anthony) Wade of Madison, AL;  three sons, Eric (Ann) Reynolds, John Henry Reynolds and Bradley Reynolds of Decatur; 24  grandchildren, Beverly Ford, Michelle Stewart, Victor Stewart, (Karen), Catina Reynolds, Tavarius Reynolds, Antwona Reynolds-Rivers (Laurence), Darris Harris, Phillip Harris, Samantha Bullock (Lawrence), Sheri Bracks (Derrick), Marcus Satchel, Mariea Satchel, Brandi Jones, Lacorey Cobb, Sherell Reynolds, Amber Wade, Rayli Wade, Maurice Reedus, Joshua Reedus, Burnetta Reedus, Shayla Smith, John Reynolds Jr., Lamarcus Reynolds and Tituana Reynolds; 46 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
