Ruth Adams, 75, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 24, 2019. She was born on January 2, 1944 to the late Levi B. and Gertrude Cornell of Mansfield, CT as the youngest of nine brothers and sisters.
“Ruthie” always made jokes, shared funny stories, and made those around her smile! She loved the Lord, butterflies, knitting, needlepoint, crossword puzzles, reading and writing, ice cream, milkshakes, riding around in “old cars” and never let anyone leave without a hug! She was a talented crafter, who made many gifts for family and friends of macramé, ceramics, knitted and needlepoint goods. During her life she worked at the old Willimantic Stop & Shop, sold Mary Kay cosmetics and most recently worked as a caregiver.
She is survived by her son, Curt Adams and wife Diane, of Lebanon, CT, daughter Kim Abell and husband Jim of Lebanon, CT. Grandchildren: Courtney Adams Bouthiller, Scarlett Abell, Madison Adams, and Hunter Abell. Great grandsons: Jameson and Maverick Couch, several nieces and nephews, including Brenda Durel and Kathie Lee, who were very close to their “Aunt Ruth”. She is also survived by her sole remaining brother, Bruce Potter of Mansfield, CT and by her former spouse, Wayne Adams of Lebanon, CT.
