Gertrud Barbara Jager Premac, 87, passed away peacefully February 21, 2018 in Denver. She was born November 12, 1930 in Mannheim, Germany to H. Cornelius and Barbara Hitter Jager. Gertrud grew up in Germany with one older sister and six younger brothers and sisters. Her formal education was interrupted by World War II, but she completed high school and a trade school. She and George met while he was stationed in Germany serving in the Army. They were married in 1957. Sons Derek and John came along in the next two years. The family moved with military assignments to Seattle, El Paso, back to Germany, and ultimately Colorado Springs, CO. Gertrud began a career of retail department store manager with Duckwall’s, then Alco, and Target from the ‘60s to 90’s.
