She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dorsey Carter, Jr.; parents, James Floyd Vineyard and Della Mae Hall Vineyard; sister-in-law, Sandra Vineyard; brother-in-law, Frank Payne; and niece, Elaine Vineyard Cline. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Melissa Smith of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Tom Finn of Dalton; brothers and sister-in-law, Lamar and Linda Vineyard of Dalton, Norman Vineyard of Dalton; sister, Rayma Payne of Dalton; grandchildren, Katie (Wes) Pippenger of Dayton, OH, Michael Finn of Chattanooga, TN, Whitney (RJ) Pierce of Douglas, GA, Lindsey Smith (Adam Sapp) of Dalton; great grandchildren, Crosby Pippenger, Xander Pippenger, Sadie Pierce, and Rhett Pierce. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
