Geraldine (Jerry) Stapleton Vaughan, age 79, passed away on April 16, 2012 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Cedar Key, FL and grew up in Gainesville, FL. Jerry attended the University of Florida where she met her husband to be, William (Bill) Vaughan. They were married in 1951 and moved to Huntsville in 1958.
Jerry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, attending the Byrd Springs Ward for the past 54 years. A homemaker, wonderful wife, and mother, she was preceded in death by her father, Robert T. Stapleton and her mother, Alice Mae McKinney Stapleton of Gainesville, FL, and her brothers, Dorald R. Stapleton of Cedar Key, FL, and Elroy S. Stapleton, of Crestview, FL.
Jerry is survived by her husband of 60 years, William (Bill) Vaughan of Huntsville; her children, Stephen W. Vaughan and wife Laurie of Huntsville, AL, David A. Vaughan and wife Marva of Knoxville, TN, William D. Vaughan of Marietta, GA, and Robert T. Vaughan and wife Tammie of Canton, GA; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Huntsville Health and Rehabilitation Facility for the excellent care and compassion given to their mother over the past year.
