Geraldine Ruth (Fisher) Chambers, 91, of Flagstaff passed away April 16, 2013. She was the youngest of nine children, born May 4, 1921 to Elizabeth Fornwalt and William Fisher in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Geraldine graduated in 1939 from Altonna High School. In 1941 she married LeRoy O. Chambers, May 14, 1941.
She was employed by the Social Security Administration Candler Building, Baltimore, Maryland during WWII transferring to Social Security Office in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1945. Geraldine and LeRoy moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1950 then settled in Flagstaff in 1953. She was employed by Cheshire Motors in 1955 as Secretary and Tyrell Chevrolet as accountant.
In her early years she was active in a handicapped Girl Scout troop and Boy Scouts. She was an active member of the San Francisco de Asis Parish under many different ministries. She was a long time member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, and volunteered 10 years at Flagstaff Medical Center and 5 years at the Taylor House.
Geraldine Enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and needle work. She was also an avid reader.
She was proceeded in death by her husband LeRoy of 59 years and grandson Kevin Brodie, 25 years old.
She is survived by children Irene Brodie (Stephen), Stephen Chambers, and Linda Chambers; and granddaughter Erin Brodie (Dan).
